Farm to Fabric brings farmers, manufacturers, designers, Indigenous knowledge keepers, artists, educators, students, and brands into the same room for three days around one question: what can industrial hemp actually do for the future of fashion, textiles, regenerative manufacturing, and climate mitigation?
Friday and Saturday at the Brooklyn Peace Center focus on education and industry. A digital storytelling exhibition runs all weekend alongside panels and keynote conversations, live podcast recordings and interviews, artist talks, hands-on textile demonstrations, and business development opportunities. Featured speakers include the Tuscarora Nation, Alisha Spradlin of NC State’s Wilson College of Textiles, Takehiro Daitoh of Kingdom Manufacturing and weavearth, and Patrick Brown of Nature for Justice and Brown Family Farms.
Sunday moves to Governors Island to close the weekend: a guest gathering from 2:00 PM, the Julian Magazine release with keynotes at 5:00, a hemp fashion and apparel showcase, and a closing celebration running until 9:00 PM.
Across all three days, hemp shows up as more than a raw material. It’s a story about culture, craftsmanship, innovation, and what a domestic supply chain could look like if we built one on purpose.
Admission is free, but space is limited and registration is required for entry.
